Investiture

Dear parent or carer

Your child has attended Scouts for the last few weeks and now wishes to be Invested.

They will require a Scout shirt and a group scarf, which can be bought from the Scout Shop in Perne Road (click here for a map or here for opening times).

At the investiture they will be asked to repeat the Scout Promise:

On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Scout law

This can be repeated after me or from memory. There is a separate page with this on, with alternatives for those who might struggle with any of the wording from a religious or accessibility point of view.

They should also know the Scout Law and Motto but do not need to repeat them:

A Scout is to be trusted.
A Scout is loyal.
A Scout is friendly and considerate.
A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.
A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.
A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

Be prepared

You are welcome to attend and take photographs. I will set the date shortly, but some dates that investitures may happen are on the diary. If you are unable to attend in the near future please let me know.
