How can Activity Badges be attempted?IndividuallyA Scout can work on Activity Badges alone. An individual Scout can complete an Activity Badge outside of the Troop, at home or school doing the photographer badge or the librarian badge or one of the staged badges such information technology, swimmer or the musicians badge say, or on a family holiday such as windsurfing (water sports), dinghy sailing or snow sports. Check out the www.scoutbase.org.uk website for details on what tasks are required against a list of all of the activity badges. As a PatrolSometimes badges can be attempted in patrols, such as the Camp Cook badge. As a TroopAnother way is for the whole Troop working on Activity Badges together - as a follow up to one of the Programme Zones. Typically badges take a number of meetings to complete, and not everyone who takes part will necessarily reach the standard to get a badge (although most should be able to). The challenge badges are typically worked on as a troop.
