Gilwell Winter Camp

Winter Camp at Gilwell is a mid winter camp at UK scouting's headquarters at Gilwell. Activities fill the whole weekend; it is like a mini-jamboree but in the winter. Four season sleeping bags at night (sometimes two!) and plenty of warm clothes with lots to eat are the order of the day.

Some years the camp has deep deep snow, which even saw our scouts, Danny, Brett and Jonathan grace the front page of a national newspaper one year in this snow dusted photograph

Winter Camp is full of activities and fun in mid-winter ranging from four wheel drive cars and mini-diggers through abseiling and zorbing, robot wars and a flight simulator to the scouting staples of wide games, camp fires and orienteering
