Belchamps
Summer Camp 2017
The Cubs went to the Belchamps Scout Camp near Southend, for their summer camp at the end of July. It is a big campsite with open grassland surrounded by woods and equiped with an adventure course, pedal-karting and archery although the floor on the toilets rotted through whilst we were there.

As Southend has a beach and pier the theme was beaches and we visited the RNLI station at the end of Southend's pier, the longest in Britain.

We made dinosaur sandcastles on the beach |
We had the occasional game of cricket during the quiet times

None of it would have been possible without the fabulous help of the ladies (Justine and Maddie with Jessica and Kate's help) who rotated through the kitchen over the camp to keep everyone well fed and watered (including endless cups of leaders' tea)
